Beer.

I’ve been trying, and failing, to brew a decent pint.

Why? Well, because I like beer. I also want to try new branding ideas in a sector which is conservative and old fashioned. I’ve blogged about that before.

What we’re also doing is looking into taking some of the branding ideas which we’ve developed for other clients into new sectors. Take the ‘C’MON BRIS’ campaign we developed for Bristol Rugby for the 2006/07 season. You can find out all about the campaign here blackman-introduction-rugby . The campaign was incredibly well received by Bristol Rugby supporters - who like most sports fans are a notoriously difficult target market to please  in terms of  producing work which is in tune with their deep emotional bond with their team. When we were attending a Bristol game (it helps to be fans of a brand  you work on) this season, we directors of our new agency Double Art all agreed that it was a crying in our beer shame that Bris fans had to drink Bath Ales in the ‘Welly’ pub near the ground. So why didn’t we launch a ‘Cmon Bris’ bitter? Yeah! Let’s do it! All we need to do is to learn how to brew beer. Which is proving harder than we thought. Ah well, at least it was easy to drop the ‘Cmon Bris’ logo onto a pint glass to get us all excited about the opportunity.

So if there’s any lovely local brewers out there who are interested in licensing the ‘Cmon Bris’ logo - or indeed want to talk beer brands and marketing, please get in touch with Double Art.
