Free and greedy

Brand and website development for innovative creative brand

The first in our 140 word blog post brevity challenges.

“A year ago we thought free was the future. We launched The Free Thinker. Open source creativity was its proposition. Free was exciting and liberating. It was social and socialist. Anti corporate, non hierarchical wikinomics. The idea was the abundance of ideas. Boomerang business; that if you give it away – it comes back. But free is also greedy….

Free knows the price of everything -  it wants it to be zero. As a result free invests no value in what you do. Free excited the global marketing community to the extent that we betrayed our creative partners in film, music and journalism. We told them to get used to having to give what they did away. While we took fees for free, and received client thanks for sharing.”
